Organized for the 9th time by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D) with the main support of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and sponsored by IC Enterra Platin, the Istanbul Carbon Summit was held this year with the theme of “Risks, Opportunities and Carbon Trade Originating from Climate Change”.
Taşkın Kızılok, General Manager of IC Enterra Renewable Energy, who was a speaker on the second day of the summit held at the ITU Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center on May 6-7, stated that they have prevented 2.2 million tons of carbon emissions to date with the 9 hydroelectric power plants (HES) they own, and that the Erzin-2 GES Project in Hatay, which will be commissioned this year, will prevent 129,760 tons of carbon emissions per year.
